Welllll.... We hit a snag when Beth was having trouble relating how far away the continents really were from each other. (No, we can't just build a bridge to Africa!) And the only maps we had were in books, not a globe or a map... nothing even close to being able to show her the reality of the size of our world. Sooo.... Pete made a globe. Out of an orange. It worked! After drawing the major landforms, including the South Pole, he stuck a pin in the general location of Ohio and she could really see how hard it would be to build something to connect it all. Needless to say, we now have a globe on order, but this will work for now!

I just got a globe at Target for $15.00 Very glad, and we are starting to pray for countries and learn a little bit about them. http://www.operationworld.org/country/bhut/overvw01.html Globes are awesome.
